AP Courses
Students at Lake Placid High School have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement (AP) Courses during their junior and/or senior year. AP Courses offer students the opportunity to dig deeper into class material and put analytical thinking to use. Classes are run as if in a college course and students have higher expectations when enrolled in these courses. Students must meet certain guidelines in order to be considered for these courses, along with complete summer assignments and sign yearly contracts. Students are expected to take an AP test in the beginning of May granting them the opportunity to gain college credit. AP courses have an additional yearly fee (fee reductions are available).
